At Cioci’s Picture Mart, the tradition of quality custom picture framing runs deep. Picture framing began, in the Magee family, with Rachel and John Magee – the grandparents of Andy Magee, current owner of Cioci’s Picture Mart. John and Rachel began making picture frames in the upstairs of a small furniture store, which quickly grew into a large picture framing manufacturing business. Magee Company supplied ready-made hardwood frames to retailers such as Wal-Mart and K-Mart around the country.
All three of John and Rachel’s children worked in picture framed at some point in their lives. Their daughter, Ruth Ann, and her husband Patrick Cioci opened Cioci’s Picture Mart in Kirkwood, Missouri, in 1970. At Cioci’s Picture Mart, the focus was not on manufacturing, but on quality custom picture framing. Over the years, the Picture Mart reputation for selection, quality, and customer service spread throughout the community and was fueled by a fiercely loyal clientele.
Today, many of the grandchildren of Rachel and John have worked in picture framing. One of them, Andy Magee, is one of the current owners of Cioci’s Picture Mart. He carries the tradition of quality and excellence into the third generation.
